An exclusive license is a type of license where the licensee has the exclusive right to use the licensed property, meaning the licensor cannot grant licenses to others. Note, though, that exclusivity may be limited to certain fields of use, which would then allow the licensor to grant other licenses so long as they weren't within a field of use for which an exclusive license had been granted.
